50th Anniversary of Granagh National School
2017 marked the 50th anniversary of the building of Granagh National School on its present site. This important milestone was marked on Thursday 13th December 2017, when Fr. Michael Noonan joined with Fr. Lane to celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving for the pupils, parents and friends who have supported the life and work of the school throughout the years.
On Monday 18th December 2017, Jim Chawke and Carmel Shine who were pupils at the school in 1967 and transferred from the original school (near the community centre) to its current site, shared some special memories and thoughts with our current pupils. Carmel Shine was joined by her mother Mrs. Paula Shine R.I.P.
Inspired by the discussion with our guest speakers, the children prepared an art exhibition - “Granagh School – Past, Present and Future” which was held in the Community Hall in March 2018. Members of the local community also exhibited their paintings. Our Parent’s Association very kindly agreed to provide refreshments
